Connect Microsoft 365.
Connect an Outlook or Microsoft 365 mailbox, with Microsoft sign-in or SMTP.
There are two ways to connect a Microsoft 365 mailbox.
Option 1: Sign in with Microsoft (recommended)
- Go to Mailboxes and click Connect mailbox.
- Choose Microsoft 365, then Sign in with Microsoft.
- Sign in and accept.
No password is stored. If this option says it isn’t set up yet, use option 2.
Option 2: SMTP and IMAP
- Choose Microsoft 365, then the SMTP and IMAP option.
- Enter your full email address and password (or an app password, if your account uses one).
- Click Connect.
We sign in to check the details and send a test email.
If the login fails
Many Microsoft 365 accounts have Authenticated SMTP turned off. Ask your admin to turn it on for this mailbox. They can do this in the Microsoft 365 admin center: open the user, then Mail, then Manage email apps, and tick Authenticated SMTP.
After you connect
- Fix any red SPF, DKIM or DMARC badges. See Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
- New mailboxes start slowly. See Sending limits and the slow start.
- If Microsoft asks us to slow down, we pause the mailbox for 24 hours. It starts again on its own.
